Staff has received a conditional rezoning request located on Applehill Road adjacent to the Falls Cove development. The request is for Parcel Identification Numbers 4740-37-5206, and 4740-36-4298. The properties are approximately 93.5-acres in area. The developer is proposing 256 single-family homes. The request is to rezone the property from Iredell County Residential Agricultural (IC-RA) to Conditional Zoning – Mixed Residential (CZ-RM). A conditional zoning district, if approved, is to be developed based on the submitted concept plan and agree upon conditions. A community meeting will be required to be held prior to the Planning Board hearing the case. The community meeting was held August 22nd at 6:00pm held at the Troutman Town Hall (400 N. Eastway Dr). A second Community Meeting will be held on October 8th at 6:00PM at Troutman Town Hall. The Planning Board will most likely make a recommendation on the request at its October 28th meeting (6pm at Town Hall) and the the case will be head by Council at it’s November meeting. (7pm at Town Hall).
