Recycling Collection

Town of Troutman provides recycling collection through Waste Pro. Waste Pro collects the recycling every other week. Troutman’s recycling schedule is on the same day as your trash services.  Recycling services with Waste Pro begins July 8th, 2024. The pickup schedule is determined by garbage pickup day.

Holidays: If your recycling/garbage falls on a holiday that Waste Pro is closed, collection runs a day behind when a holiday falls on a Monday-Thursday.

Recycling Do’s & Don’ts:

• Yes — Cardboard
• Yes — Aluminum Cans *See Note Below
• Yes — Tin & Steel Cans *See Note Below
• Yes — Plastic Bottles & Jugs with Necks * See Note Below
• Yes — Newspaper, Magazines, Catalogs, Junk mail, Phone books, etc.
• Yes — Glass Bottles
• NO — Garbage, Yard Waste, Dishes, Hazardous Materials, Mirrors, Electronics, Cups, Batteries, Clothing, Aerosol Cans.

* Rinse out all cans, bottles and jars. 

~ All Items must be within the container or the container will NOT be emptied.
~ It must also have a minimum of 6 feet clearance all around the container when you place it at the curb or it will NOT be emptied.

Each address is assigned one recycling container. If an additional container is needed, it can be added to your utility bill for an additional monthly fee. Call Town Hall for details at 704-528-7600.

(C) Receptacles for garbage and trash may be placed at the curb on the night before the scheduled pickup. Rollout containers and other receptacles must be removed from the curb by 8:00 a.m. on the day after they are collected. It is the responsibility of the householder to pick up loose debris around the collection area.
